What does the nose know?

Think about it?  When you open a carton of milk that has been in the fridge for a while, your nose will send a couple of messages to the brain.....a) that stinks, b) it may not be good, c) I may get sick, or d) throw it away!!!!

Well, what else does the nose know? Is your nose connected to your emotions?  Can smell affect your mood?  Does a certain scent make you happy? Does it trigger a memory?
